“老板!快看冰箱门!” turbulent shouts echoed from the kitchen, making me jump and nearly drop the ladle in my hand. I turned around, wiping the sweat from my brow, only to see a shimmering, jelly-like blob standing on the inside of the fridge door. Its head was tilted at an odd angle, giving it a somewhat human-like appearance, but its body remained vaguely amorphous, like a pulsating mass of weird green algae. But what really got my goat was the giant metal bowl balanced precariously on its head, its rim jutting out like a dagger aimed at my face. “What the hell is that?” I muttered, raising an eyebrow in disbelief. The blob shifted slightly, its body parts wriggling in a hypnotic rhythm. The metal bowl began to glow with a faint, eerie light, casting long, dancing shadows on the kitchen walls. Suddenly, a voice, distorted and muffled, emerged from the blob. “Feeding time…” it slurred, its voice like dry leaves skittering over pavement.
