Her vision was blurry, everything a frustrating mix of colors and shapes. Her body felt-hot, feverish. She could feel the sticky, dampness of sweat trickling down her temples, the back of her neck. Her lips were chapped, and her tongue felt Like sandpaper scraping against them. She tried to take a sip of water, but her throat was so dry she couldn't even manage that. "Suzy, can you hear me?" The voice beside her was closer now, urgent. The hands gently prodding her arm were warm, familiar. She tried to turn her head, but her neck felt stiff, like it had been broken and set incorrectly.
